Warwick castle is a medieval castle original built by William conquer in 1068.This castle is situated on the town of Warwick, on a sandstone bluff a bend of the river avon. In this castle they have a Warwick trebuchet that was the largest catapult in the world. Sir Fulke Greville converts it to a country house. It was owned by the Greville family, who became earls of Warwick in 1759, until 1978 when it was bought by the Tussauds Group. In this castle lived king Herny Vlll, he had 6 wives and he was so famous for that reason.
In this castle is also the death mask of Oliver
Cromwell and his helmet, he was the lider of the parlament terrious that get fight again the king.
Warwick has different sections, one of does was a man which teachs you how to
protect your self’s and kill your opponents in that time , also it’s a section
where they explain how the people work in that medieval time. There are live
shows demonstrating jousting, archery and falconry also dramatic shows,
interactive experiences, storytelling, demonstrations, activities and more. The
most beautiful is that you can go to the highest tower in Warwick castle and
watch all of it.
Towers were the main defensive
system for any castle. Also because of their height and position above and out
from the main castle wall, they gave archers a clear view to target the enemy
below. At Warwick Castle, there are a number of excellent examples of defensive
constructive.
Going to Warwick castle was great
experience of learning the type of things they do at that time, the most
favorite thing I like from there it’s the falcon and protection shows, also at
the protection show we learned how they kill and protect themselves in that time
and with different arms, big types of arrow, arc, axes, spears, sword, etc. In this castle they have some special rooms for
there antic armors of those times. I put my head in a guillotine where they cut
others peoples head. This castle was so big, beautiful and all the room that
the castle had were so decorated. Inside the castle was a special room where
they explain how was Henry Vlll, why he was so famous, wax statues of himself
and his six wives. The best thing in this castle for me was that falconers teach
a falcon to obey and for reward they give them food.
The people that work at Warwick
castle help us, telling what we didn’t understand or if we had doubts, and they
try to explain the most easy way for
understand. The landscape was so beautiful, they take care about the
environment, and there many type of beautiful and different bird. finally my
opinion about Warwick castle was that it was my first castle that I know , I leant
many things and I have a very good time with my friends having fun and knowing more about this medieval
time.
